Awana is an exciting program for children who are in K5 through the 6th grade!

Every Wednesday night during the Awana Season, Clubbers enjoy a fast-paced evening of games, group Bible lessons, and individual learning achievement.

First Baptist Church has divided its Awana ministry into two (2) separate clubs, Sparks and TnT. The Sparks are the Clubbers that are in K5 through 2nd grade. The TnT (Truth and Training) clubbers are in grades 3-6. Each of these clubs utilize age-appropriate handbooks, games, and Bible lessons.

Each of the Awana clubs at First Baptist Church will rotate through a club-night that will have a game time in the gym. The 40 foot Awana circle is the basis for many fun and unique games. The gym also allows for many other games and activities to keep Clubbers having fun! Another part of the club rotation will be handbook time. The Clubber handbooks, which are designed for each grade level, are made up of many "sections". A section may have a few Bible terms to learn, or Bible names, or Bible principles. Sometimes the sections are made up of a couple of verses from Scripture. Clubbers follow the instructions of each section, and when completed, begin to work their way toward trophies and special awards. The great part of Awana handbooks is that each Clubber is able to work their way through the sections at their own individual pace! The third part of a club-night rotation will be council time. This is a group Bible lesson which includes singing kid songs. Council Time is also when Clubbers receive the many achievement awards and team awards for the night.

Kids love Awana! Enroll your children in this ministry that teaches them patriotism, Bible, discipline, and teamwork . . . all while having fun!

The acronym "Awana" comes from the first letters of Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed which is taken from the Bible verse found in 2 Timothy 2:15: Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
